Invitation

Dear PhD students and postdoctoral fellows,

It is with great pleasure that we announce a summer school dedicated to batteries, which will be held at the Belambra Club Presqu'île du Ponant (La Grande-Motte, France) from June 1 to 4, 2026.

This generalist summer school, entitled Bat360, reflects our ambition to cover the full range of themes and challenges associated with PEPR batteries projects. It is primarily intended for non-permanent members of the PEPR community, but may be opened more broadly if places remain available.

The PEPR will cover all expenses except travel costs, which will remain the responsibility of the respective teams. Forty places are available for students (this number cannot be extended).

From a scientific perspective, the program will include six half-days of lectures and seminars (approximately twenty presentations), as well as two poster sessions. Conferences will be in English.

It will cover the following topics:

  • General overview of batteries
  • Electrochemistry for batteries
  • Resources, mining and sustainability
  • Characterization - from bulk to surface, from basic to large facilities
  • Sensing and BMS
  • Modeling and Artificial Intelligence for Batteries
  • Lithium from A to Z
  • Power Devices
  • Stationary storage and Aqueous batteries

Looking forward to seeing you in La Grande Motte!

The organizing committee
